Head College Counselor
Amanda is a native of Santa Clarita and a graduate of William S. Hart High School. After high school she attended college in Idaho and Utah where she majored in Social Work not fully understanding what she wanted to do when she graduated. After getting married and having her two children, she realized she wanted to pursue other avenues and decided to go back to school. While working full time, she attended night school to complete her bachelors in the social sciences with an emphasis in Psychology from Chapman University. She then immediately worked to complete her Master’s degree in Educational Counseling from the University of LaVerne. Collectively, she has close to ten years of experience working with elementary, Jr. High and High school aged students, and has been employed by both the Newhall School District and the Hart School District as both an instructor and a counselor.
As a person who struggled to properly identify early on what she wanted to do with her future, Amanda is determined to assist other students in the career and college selection process. She understands how intimidating it can be and has made it her mission to make the process as stress free as possible for the students and their parents. She has a passion for college counseling and will dedicate her efforts to help her students to identify and achieve their dreams.
